Dr.. Salim Mohammed Al-Zanoun *
Last June, the Israeli army chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, set out the framework for his multi-year military action plan for the next five years, which will replace Gideon’s previous plan.
While the Gideon plan, developed by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot in 2015, focused on reducing the number of troops and reducing 11% of senior officers, by 2016, two generals, 24 colonels and 80 lieutenant colonels were removed. The plan focused on the increase of the ability of the naval and air forces, with declining interest in ground forces, and abandoning the dispatch of ground troops in any future battle.

The Tanova Plan (impulsive force ), developed by the current Chief of Staff, Aviv Kohavi, in June 2019, replacing Gideon plan from the beginning of 2020 for five years, focused on integrating troops and technologies into the army, with a unit comprising military intelligence and air force, and the three regional commands, in addition to focusing on artificial intelligence and big data in identifying potential targets for military strikes, with internal Internet linking all branches of the army to exchange information, and the plan was transferred to focus on ground forces (infantry, tanks, artillery).
It also focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of the army quickly referred to as the process of “lethality”, not only in the sense of annihilating the enemy militarily , but targeting civilians in any future battle, military experts believe that the plan aims to annihilate the opponent systematically, and win the knockout in the first round.
As part of the Tanufah plan, the IDF is continuing its preparations for a military operation .The priorities of the military plans have been changed from a focus on the Iranian position in Syria and exposing Hezbollah and Hamas tunnels to preparing for a military confrontation in the Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli officials, the battle with the Gaza Strip is imminent. It is related to the internal Israeli changes in terms of the date of the upcoming elections and the formation of the government and the statements of the Israeli security system indicate to develop an offensive plan to damage the centers of gravity and sensitive properties and disrupt the firepower of the opponent in the next war . As a result, Al-Hadaf Bank in the Gaza Strip has doubled in recent months.

The next battle.
The TANOVA plan points to the shape of the next battle .If a large-scale confrontation breaks out, Israel will use military force and unprecedented firepower to inflict significant material destruction on the military capabilities and infrastructure of the enemy, which will take many years to restore, to deter and delay the next war for long years. .
-The unprecedented activation of the ground war, including the introduction of large-scale military forces into the Gaza Strip in the early stages of the confrontation, by integrating into the work of the various ground, naval, air, intelligence and reserve forces, but without occupying the entire strip.
– Any upcoming military confrontation will involve investing significant combat capabilities in order to undermine the chain of military command.•
-In return, Hamas will activate the missile capability, cornet rockets, improvised explosive devices; drones loaded with explosives, and the cyber war with Iran’s help to launch attacks on infrastructure, and try to disrupt Israel’s missile defense system, with attempts to conduct naval attacks to harm gas stations.
