US-Iranian relations are characterized in the post  of  1979 by  extreme tension  and hostility , and because relations between states do not go on a single manner , and tensions of  the past do not affect the possibility of understanding in the pivotal stage of the stages of the Middle East ,  so states like the United States of America the “Great Satan,” by  the Iranian perspective,  and the Iranian regime “axis of evil” by the American concept  are maintaining  their  links and their relations are based on common interests . No wonder that  the  interests of these two countries are met  as long as the goal is to get rid of a common enemy as the former Iraqi President  Saddam Hussein.

In this context, it has been  revealed about  secret talks were held between the United States and the Iranian regime during the US aggression and occupation of Iraq on the ninth of April-  / May2003.  Zalmay Khalilzad , a former ambassador to Iraq (2005 m / 2007 m),wrote  his book titled “Envoy” being published by St. Martin’ s Press  .

As the newspaper “New York Times” quoted some parts  of the book, and perhaps the most important of it are those talks that were held in Geneva in the presence of Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations _at that time_ and resulted in talks that the Iranian regime has vowed not to attack the US fighter jets in the event of violation of Iranian airspace.

“Axis of Evil” was not satisfied with this pledge to  “the Great Satan   only, but pursued a political realism in secret to deal with it after the occupation of Iraq immediately, and this is indicated by the lecturer in international affairs, “Gwen Daaar” in his book translated into Arabic and entitled “Chaos  they Organized: the Middle East after Iraq “issued in the first Arabic edition in 2008, where  the lecturer  pointed ,  in the sixth chapter of the book  entitled  Iranian alleged bomb, to the   realistic approach in Iranian policy .

In May  of the year 2003, the Iranian government had sent –  which was shocked  by the ease of the US occupation of Iraq and  the sudden reach of US armed forces to the western border (with a present  of other American forces on its eastern border with Afghanistan–  a  Message to the Ministry of the US State proposing  a comprehensive  settlement for all the differences between the two countries .                                                                                              this The message was conveyed on the second of May of the year 2003, before the time of the meeting, which brought together Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations Mohammad Javad Zarif and a neoconservative  figure, Zalmay Khalilzad, who was then the senior director of  National Security Council,  the Iranian government has offered to take firm action against any terrorist act  (especially if it was al-Qaeda) on Iranian territory,  in return to the cooperation of United States  in the prosecution of terrorists, anti-Iranian regime;  , MKO.

Although the Iranian regime insisted on its right to get any peaceful nuclear technology, however,  it was agreed to subject to a more strict  inspection measures   and to all  additional protocols of the International Atomic Energy Agency , and thus give IAEA inspectors access to any Iranian facility they want to enter without any prior notice , including those that are not  revealed by the Iranian regime..

Perhaps the surprise here is that the Iranian regime offered to join the moderate Arab states to accept the Beirut Declaration emanating from the Arab summit meeting in 2002, which called for peace with Israel in exchange for Israel’s withdrawal to the borders before1967. . Where  it works to  turn  Hezbollah into just a political party within Lebanon , and terminate any financial assistance to the Palestinian opposition factions (Hamas, Islamic Jihad) from Iranian territory and even it would press on these factions to stop its operations against the Israelis in the borders of the year 1967 .

All that the United States can do in return is to renew diplomatic ties with the Iranian regime and put an end to the sanctions and the recognition of its security interests in the region in terms of defensive ability.

This offer has been approved by both the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the former  President of the  Republic of Iranian regime, Mohammad Khatami, but former US President “George W. Bush” administration rejected the Iranian offer, and the reason for this refusal is due to a feeling of neo-conservatives and the extreme -nationalists around him of  absolute power, taking into the consideration   that both Iran and Syria are  in the  forefront of the  list of target countries.

They were convinced that the Iranian regime is teetering and will fall at the first strong push.

For this reason, the United States pressed the International Atomic Energy Agency in order to find evidence that there is work on the development of illegal weapons in Iran,  the IAEA followed all  leads relating to secret sites for nuclear weapons provided by the US intelligence agencies, but did not  reach to anything., where the Guardian newspaper reported on February 23 of the year 2007, quoting the words of one of diplomats at the headquarters of the IAEA in Vienna: “They gave us a paper  that contains a list of sites … but there was no indication of the existence of a prohibited nuclear  activities ”

” In the meantime, it has become the right of the Iranian regime to produce a full nuclear fuel cycle as  a general national issue and a point of attraction in Iran’s domestic political life

By August of the year 2005,  the fear of American power in Tehran is turned to recognize the plight of US troops in Iraq and that the United States was  not prepared to get involved in a similar situation in Iran.

That is why Iran expelled IAEA monitors and removed the seals that had been placed on its uranium enrichment facilities three years ago, in defiance of the United States of America to do anything regarding this matter. Thus , the Iranian regime  to begin after that to extend its influence and this is what has been done.

What  we conclude from the testimony of both Zalmay Khalilzad, former US ambassador to Iraq, in his book “envoy” and Gwen Daaar lecturer in international affairs  in his book  “chaos they organized …) that the Iranian regime does not hesitate in front of the real threat, which it was exposed to it  at the beginning of the American occupation of Iraq ,  to resort to every possible means to get rid of it and to give up  its revolutionary slogans and abandon its allies.
